About Me

Hi there! My name is Christy and I am currently 25 years old. I graduated from Chapman University in 2016 where I got my Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration. I have two brothers and two wonderful parents, along with a super cute cat.
A few years ago, I was diagnosed with anxiety, depression, and panic disorder. I’m on a daily medication and see a therapist weekly. This diagnosis came after a series of life altering events occurred, although the more I learned about these illnesses I realized I have been fighting them my whole life. At first I was embarrassed. I felt like I was somehow less of a person and that people were no longer going to treat me the same. Mental illness is such a wide, vague label that I was scared people were going to look at me and wonder, “What danger is she capable of? What threat does she pose?” I don’t want anyone who’s going through what I am to feel that way, which is why I’ve made it my goal to do what I can to help try and stop the stigma against mental illness. Bringing awareness to mental illness and all of its different components is so important to me which is why I started this blog about my personal journey. I want to bring mental health into the conversation and help people understand what it is and how they can help. Mental illness deserves to be taken as seriously as other illnesses and I hope to be part of that change. My goal through this blog and in life is to share my journey to help encourage and inspire others.
